Day of Mindfulness 2026

A Day of Mindfulness in the Tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh

August 1, 2026 – 9:00 am to 3:30 pm,

Unity Church of Charleston 2535 Leeds Avenue, Charleston, SC

Both beginners and experienced practitioners are warmly invited to a day of mindfulness with Plum Village Dharma Teacher Heather Lyn Mann. Together, we will practice mindfulness and support one another as a community. We will cultivate inner peace to look more deeply into the embodiment of love and compassion, the central messages of Buddha and Christ. Living Buddha, Living Christ, an acclaimed book by Vietnamese Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, will be our guide and help reveal how these teachings bring us truly alive.

What to Expect Heather will provide meditation instructions and guidance throughout the day. Our activities will include:

  • Guided sitting meditation to calm the mind.
  • Labyrinth walking meditation and other mindful movement.
  • A mindful silent meal to nourishment our connection with life.
  • Deep relaxation to restore your energy.
  • Mindful sharing to connect with one another.
  • A Dharma talk by Heather on living deeply within these two great traditions.
